My Musical Education Background

A native Korean, pianist Dr. Jin Park has been playing the piano since the age of four. She earned both Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in Piano Performance at Arizona State University, Tempe, studying under Dr. Baruch Meir. Dr. Park also holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Kyungbuk National University, South Korea. While a student at ASU, Dr. Park received scholarships and awards. Dr. Park won the first place award at the Joseph Klatzkin memorial contemporary keyboard music competition. The scholarships awarded include the Special Talent Scholarship from ASU and a summer festival scholarship from Brevard Music Center. Dr. Park has received wide recognition not only as a pianist but as a teacher. She has served as a faculty member at Kyungbuk National University, Kyungbuk Arts High school, and Sin Myung High school, and she was a graduate teaching assistant and a piano instructor at Herberger Community School while pursuing her doctoral degree at ASU.

I am a classically trained pianist with twenty years of experience working with students of all levels and ages. Students are encouraged to love music through playing the piano, to work to achieve their personal best, and most importantly, to enjoy themselves throughout the journey. Dr. Jin Park is a classically trained pianist with twenty years of experience working with students of all levels and ages. She specializes in classical repertoire ranging from the Baroque Era to Modern Contemporary. Dr. Park instills a strong musical foundation in her students by emphasizing proper technique, sight-reading, ear training and music theory. Students are encouraged to love music through playing the piano, to work to achieve their personal best, and most importantly, to enjoy themselves throughout the journey.
