About Me
I live in the Cannon Falls area. Attended fine arts camp and fine arts high school at Interlochen, MI. I have lived in MN since graduating from St. Olaf College in music. I'm very active in music within our community, where I operate a piano studio. Piano students from beginners through late intermediate have thrived with my guidance.
My Musical Education Background
Music has been the focal point of my life since I began studying piano as a child. I attended music camp at Interlochen, Michigan, several summers and found it so enriching that I went on to attend and graduate from the Interlochen Arts Academy. Later I earned a degree in music from St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN.
I have developed and evolved my teaching through the years using pedagogical tools learned at St. Olaf, as well as a graduate level class at St. Thomas University and many workshops. Practical experience gained from solo playing and accompanying in the local area also adds to what I can offer students.
Genres and Subjects Taught
A well-balanced lesson plan will include technique, theory, and varied repertoire. What we work on will be geared toward the individual student's age and interests. Classics from different musical periods, jazz, and duets may be included.
