About Me
Marianthe is a piano teacher with a wide range of abilities and teaching interests and crafts lessons based on a students personality and learning interests. She learns about individual students learning abilities and interests and tailors lessons to each students specific needs. She is able to give them a solid knowledge of rhythm, theory, improvisation, aural skills and note reading, and has begun teaching songwriting. She is especially good with beginners, as young as 4 years old!!
With experience writing music for film, videogames, and other multimedia, she is able to provide, in addition to piano lessons, beginning songwriting and music composition instruction in order for students to hone their creativity and budding musical voices. While she encourages learning how to play piano via note-reading, she is also able to teach students from a non-traditional approach, giving them a solid knowledge of chords, harmonic progressions and intervallic relationship without necessarily needing to read music in order to learn to play.
Further, she has an extensive performance background with piano, violin, string bass, guitar, and keyboards and is able to instill advice on encouraging musicality as well as confidence in her students. I teach in students homes and now at my studio in Palms/Culver City area!
