About Me
I have been teaching piano for over 15 years, and I love tailoring lessons to individual students' needs. Some students love to compose and create their own pieces, some love classical, others prefer hymns or popular tunes. Whatever the case, I try to teach in a way so that students will develop a life-long love of piano and music, and that they will be able to continue teaching themselves as they grow.
In addition to playing piano, I play guitar and bass. I also play keys and sing in a local rock cover band, and play keys and sing in a church worship band.
My Musical Education Background
I have studied piano since age 4, and have played many styles, including classical, jazz, rock, pop, and worship music, and have accompanied choirs and solo instrumentalists. I strongly believe it's never too late to learn something new, and began learning electric guitar at age 42 and electric bass at age 44!
Genres and Subjects Taught
In lessons, students will learn and apply music theory, study classical repertoire, traditional repertoire, and learn how to play and improvise from chord charts.
