About Me
My Musical Education Background
I have been teaching music since 2000. This has included teaching piano lessons, voice lessons, harp lessons, and handbell lessons/workshops, leading children’s choir, directing three different handbell choirs, teaching workshops on music ministry. I adapt to the learning style and interests of each student, often developing creative ways to help them learn the music, theory and technique – including interactive games, visuals, worksheets, flashcards, etc. I also make sure to find repertoire for their favorite songs written at their level so that they are able to play music that they know and love.
I have been performing since 1996 in various capacities, including piano, harp, vocal solo, and handbell ensemble/solo. I served as a church pianist for several years and I have coached other church pianists in congregational accompaniment. At present, I perform primarily vocal and harp for various special events. I currently average two 1-hour-long performances a week.

We give the students a good foundation in theory and technique but also teach them chords and improvisation. We cover a wide variety of genres - including classics, sacred, pop, movie music, and more!
Ages / Skill Levels Taught
I enjoy working with children of all ages! It is exciting to see them grasping musical concepts and making the songs their own!
Regular lessons start at age 6 and up.
Early beginner lessons are available for ages 4-6.
