About Me

I was born and raised in High Point NC with a very musical family. At 18 years old I started studying music at University of Tampa, UNCG, and Shenandoah Conservatory of Music where I earned 2 bachelor degrees in music. I lived in California for 5 years then returned to NC to raise my 2 children who are now successful musicians and as adults have blessed me with 5 beautiful grandchildren. I have had a lifetime of experience as a musician playing piano, flute and singing. I now live in Kernersville NC and enjoy teaching piano students in their homes and virtually.  

My Musical Education Background

I began my love for music singing in church from age 5 to18. I left to study music in Florida, NC, and Virginia earning 2 bachelor degrees in Music Education and Music Therapy from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music. My major instrument in college was flute and minor was piano. I have been playing piano since 3rd grade and teaching music lessons on and off for over 30 years. I currently have 18 piano students and one guitar student. Three of my students live in Texas learning piano by virtual lessons very successfully. 

Genres and Subjects Taught

As a Music Educator I am qualified to teach all beginning instruments including all string instruments, all woodwind and brass instruments, and percussion. I have experience teaching flute, piano, voice, guitar, violin, cello, trumpet, oboe, trombone, and clarinet. I also have taught high school chorus, orchestra, band and many Music Therapy groups for special needs children and adults. 

Lesson Rates

Currently, $30/30 minute lessons, and $50/hour

Ages / Skill Levels Taught

Piano - beginning (from 5 yrs old) to  advanced level. 

Flute - beginning (from 8 yrs old) to advanced level. 

All other instruments - beginning to intermediate level.
