About Me
I have been a music educator for 20+ years as both an independent/private music teacher as well as a University Professor. I teach piano (all levels), guitar (beginner to intermediate), music theory (all levels), and composition (all styles). My lessons are catered to the individual as I do not follow a prescribed method though I do have my preferred printed method materials for the various disciplines I teach. I work with the student to determine what the student wants to achieve so I have no agenda for each student other than allowing them the freedom to choose what they want to learn and to impart as much of my knowledge and experience as possible. With that said I have served as an adjudicator for music teacher association events and contests in numerous states so if that is something the student wishes to pursue I will teach to that goal and mentor to the best of my capabilities.
I look forward to meeting any prospective students, answering any questions, and can supply references upon request.
