About Me
Passion for music is what led me to my career. It gives me a deep sense of satisfaction to be able to guide a child toward an appreciation of music through learning to play the piano. For more than three decades, I have taught several hundred children and adults, from beginning through advanced. I try to expose these students to many different styles of music, from baroque to classical, from romantic to modern, from jazz to popular, from hymns to contemporary Christian praise songs. I include piano theory and encourage composing and improvising. Most of my students participate in annual recitals and repertoire evaluations, as well as winning certificates, medals, and trophies in the annual NJ Spring Piano Festival. I believe one of my most important jobs is to teach a student how to practice effectively. I stress memorization, polished performances, and most of all, to have fun making music.
