About Me

I have been teaching private piano lessons for over 35 years, mostly in the Northern Virginia area, outside Washington DC.  I am currently offering in person lessons in La Crosse Wisconsin and offering online lessons with Zoom to anyone in the United States.  I hold a degree in music as a piano major and also a degree in psychology.  I offer lessons to students ages 7 and up.  Recitals are offered twice a year, currently using Zoom as a way for students to perform for each other and their families.  Teaching piano is a passion to me, not just a career.  I love working with children, making a difference in their lives, and sharing a love for music. I also enjoy working with adult students.  

My Musical Education Background

I graduated with a degree in music as a piano major in 1988 and a degree in psychology in 1990 from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio.

Genres and Subjects Taught

I teach several styles of music for the piano including classical, jazz, popular, romantic, ragtime, folk songs, movie themes, holiday music, hymns, praise songs, and contemporary Christian music.

Lesson Rates

My monthly rate is $124 per month per student which includes 35 lessons over a 42 week period during the school year and 7 weeks of classes in the summer.  The monthly rate includes an annual studio fee of $15.  Lessons are 30 minutes, once per week.  Tuition payments can be made by check or online by using Zelle.

Ages / Skill Levels Taught

I work with beginner to early advanced piano students, ages 7 and up.  I also work with adults.
