I love music and can teach you or your children to have fun playing the piano and to develop a love, understanding and appreciation of music.
Professional piano teacher, studied in Europe, 25 years experience, all levels, all ages starting from 4+.
My Musical Education Background
About me
Started piano lessons at age 6
Attended special music school and musical college
Graduated from Yekaterinburg state conservatory with
master degree in piano pedagogy.
Worked as piano teacher and accompanist in a music school for gifted children in Russia and as a private piano teacher in New York and NJ.
Teaching music is my love and inspiration. I strongly believe that every person is born with musical ability. Every person can distinguish soprano and baritone voices, sad and happy tunes, waltz and march rhythms. Music should be a vital part of a person’s education and part of each child's upbringing and development. It will enrich every child intellectually and emotionally. When we read a book to a child or take him to the theater, ballet or museum, it is not because we plan their future in this field. Our real goal is to introduce the beauty of the world through different aspects of art and to develop an appreciation and understanding of it.
I love introducing music into a child's life and seeing the excitement of discovering the magic of creating music by your own hands.
The best compliment I have ever received from a student is, "What do you mean the lesson is over? We just started!"
The way music introduced is extremely important, like any other art, it has a language, structure, building materials and colors. Simply knowing the alphabet doesn't mean you can read, foremost knowing how to read doesn't mean you 'got' what the book meant to convey. Piano lessons should not start with the position of the hand, but rather with the condition of mind. I make sure that my students learn how to play MUSIC, not just NOTES.
