Claire taught both my daughter and my wife to play the piano and she was fantastic. Not only is she a wonderful musician but she understands pedagogy well enough to adapt her teaching style to fit the student's personality and musical aspirations. She also understands the importance of posture and the presentation of self during performance, a skill that translates into greater self confidence. This proves to be very important in other public situations such as interviews for college or employment, public speaking, or anytime when someone might need to advocate for themselves in a polite but self assured manner. I think of Claire as an "English lady" in all the very best meanings of that term.
