Hi there! If you're reading this you're probably looking for brass lessons which is perfect because that's what I do. I'm a multi instrumentalist that specializes in trombone and trumpet. I have taught lessons on pretty much every brass and woodwind instrument for classical and jazz. I love making my lessons fun. I find my students learn and retain profound knowledge if they enjoy the time in lessons. Its a win-win. There are some other sections on this profile so if fun is a plus than please keep reading.
My Musical Education Background
I studied Trombone performance for classical and jazz and hold a Masters of Modern American Music Performance from the Longy School of Music of Bard College. There I studied with Norman Bolter and Jeff Galindo. I also studied with Hans Bohn and Mark Cantrell, both are or were trombonists in the Boston Valley. I hold a Massachusetts State Teachers License at the Professional Level
Genres and Subjects Taught
My speciality is brass, lets improve our brass playing and understanding together. I love playing and teaching all types of music whether it's jazz, classical, or something else! There's a whole exciting world of music out there for us to explore without limit.
My hourly is $70, Half hour lessons are possible at $38 also. If you have a specific time requirement, let me know and we can try to work it out. I can usually be flexible. Lesson payment can be made by the start of the lesson.
Ages / Skill Levels Taught
I have taught a wide range of ages but the students who tend to do the best with me range from late elementary to early college. Again, I am open to discussing other possibilities and being flexible.
My Certifications and Awards
Massachusetts State Teachers License MM Music Performance
My Musical Influences
I love jazz music. I find R&B harmonies really resonate with me. Bill Evans, Slide Hampton, Wynton Marsalis, and Wycliffe Gordon's technique and personalities I hold in high regard and use their example to guide my musicianship.
