About Me
My name is Yelena Rodovskaya. I am originally from Riga, Lativa. I moved to the United States with my family in 1991. I have over 40 years of piano experience. I began teaching officially at the age of 17 and later went on to receive my BS and MS in Music education. Since moving to the U.S. I have worked as an accompanist and private and classroom piano instructor. I love working with children of all ages and have experience with children as young as 4 years old. I have even taught adults as old as 75. I am sociable and friendly and genuinely have a passion for music. I strongly believe there is no single approach to teaching. Every student is different and requires a personalized lesson plan. I also emphasize patience knowing that different students learn at different rates. I try and focus on remaining enthusiastic to keep the students engaged and excited about the world of music. I believe that given the opportunity and proper resources, any student can excel beyond their own expectations.
