About Me
LaTulippe Piano Studio specializes in classical piano coaching for students ages 4+ at its studio in League City, TX. The studio's focus is on developing serious students, for whom piano is the primary extracurricular activity.
With a focus on developing serious students, LaTulippe Piano Studio's mission is to:
- Enhance students' natural musical abilities
- Develop students' performance skills through participation in competitions, festivals, and masterclasses
- Prepare aspiring students for college-level music studies
Mrs. Yuka teaches students of all levels, from beginning to advanced. She specializes in working with transfer students with underdeveloped technique and reading skills.
LaTulippe Piano Studio is actively involved with the San Jacinto Federation of Music Clubs, the National Guild of Piano Teachers, Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), Texas Music Teachers Association, Houston Music Teachers Association, and Pearland Music Teachers Association.
Genres and Subjects Taught
Due to an hour lesson format for all students ages 6+, students are able to work through a comprehensive curriculum, developed by Ms. Yuka. As students develop, much effort is placed on technique, inclusive of finger rotation, drops/floats, weighted arm playing, proper fingering, and hand/body posture. Students use classic exercises, including scales, arpeggios, cadences, Hanon, and Czerny to help with technical development.
Especially during the summer, effort is also placed on theory, ear training, and music history, which are tested annually by the Texas Music Teachers Association. Students also practice sight reading on a daily basis.
Students switch to mostly classical music once finishing the first method book, but this is supplemented by sacred, pop, jazz, sacred, and folk music.
Students ages four (4) and five (5) enroll in 30-minute lessons until they reach their sixth birthday.
