About Me

Piano is a wonderful instrument and excellent instruction on the piano is the foundation that is needed for a good, solid music education.

I have enjoyed teaching piano for over 30 years to students age 4 - 89. Having started piano at age 3, I know the value of having music in one's life. Not only does it enrich the soul but it also brings joy to those who are listening.

My Musical Influences

My first teacher was my mother who was a concert pianist for many decades and currently travels throughout the world giving masterclasses to piano teachers and their students I was brought up in her technique which focuses on the proper weight control that is needed to bring out the beauty of the piano without damaging the pianist.

I was further influenced by my teachers at the university where not only solo work was revered but also chamber music was heavily emphasized. The opportunities to compete solo work, accompany other musicians, and perform with the symphony were abundant.

Summers were spent accompanying Summer Stock programs throughout the United States where my love for theatre grew and ultimately culminated in continuing my education for a Masters in Theatre.
