About Me

Hello!  I am a pianist and teacher residing in Centennial (near Arapahoe High School).  I'm the proud parent of 2 children who attend Littleton public schools and have been in the community for about 10 years.  As the son of the church pianist, I started lessons at a young age - and really never stopped.

I've taught in the area for 6 years - focusing on beginner/intermediate students.  I teach out of my home studio exclusively weekends.  In addition to piano, I play guitar and mandolin professionally.  You may find me performing at a local gig or at my church.  Music has provided me years of joy and its a thrill to share in my students musical journey.

Additional information at my website (contact me).

My Musical Education Background

I studied classical piano and theory for 12 years.  Additionally, I studied guitar and mandolin.  With over 20 years of live performance experience, I excel in transitioning what is learned in the studio to the stage.

Genres and Subjects Taught

Music is a way to communicate.  It's more than just playing the right note at the right time.  As such, it's important to incorporate a coriculum that engages my students and allows them to channel what the are trying express.

We will cover core theory, scales, tempo exercise, music composition, etc.  Then, depending on the individuals goals, we may focus on accompaniment, stay with a classical theme or, possibly, play more contemporary music.  This is both an education and, hopefully, a life long love.  I collaborate with students of all ages so they have a say in their lessons.

Lesson Rates

30 minute lesson - $25

Ages / Skill Levels Taught

All ages accepted, with the majority of my experience being elementary and middle school.

Beginner and intermediate levels accepted.

My Musical Influences

As with many musicians, my influences are all over the board!  At an early age, I primarily played and listened to classical and gospel.  Additionally, I am influenced by contemporary music from classic rock to country to bluegrass to jam bands.
