I have been teaching for over 30 years. I studied at Webster University which is where I obtained my degree. I've taught at schools, learning centers, preschools, as well as privately. I've also worked as a nanny because I LOVE kids! I was born & raised in St. Louis, but lived in Connecticut & Massachusetts for 17 years. New England is a gorgeous place. I love music & cannot imagine life without it. My desire is to instill that love in my students & develop their potential to its fullest.
My Musical Education Background
I have been teaching for over 30 years. I have my music degree in Piano Pedagogy from Webster University. I have taught in many schools & studios both in St. Louis and in New England. I've added a "21st century" element to my teaching in the past couple years-Piano Lab-computer assisted learning. It's GREAT fun & the kids LOVE it! I teach from my home as well as travel to your home. I teach pretty much anywhere in the metropolitan area as well as O'fallon (Mo) & Lake St. Louis. Please give me a call if you are interested. Thanks! 314-422-3658
Genres and Subjects Taught
I mix up the music genres so they have exposures to all types of music, as well as some theory.
My rates are $27 at my home or $35 at yours. The lab fee is half the cost of the lessons. I am also starting to get into teaching via Skype! I'm new to it, but am up to the task:)
Ages / Skill Levels Taught
I have taught ages 4 to adult.
My Certifications and Awards
Bachelor of Music in Piano Pedagogy from Webster University.
My Musical Influences
Chopin is probably the biggest influence on me. I love his music. Certainly rock & roll as I grew up in the 60s! One of my instructors at Webster University, Donald Chen, also had a huge influence on me. He was an excellent teacher & conductor. He used me as an example in one of my conducting classes! I was so proud. :)
