About Me

SINGING CHILD: How about learning to "sing" fun and adventurous (family friendly) songs with others your age? I'm looking to put together a group of 4-5 girls who would love to learn to sing while having tons of fun with others. I sang as a child alongside taking piano lessons and began "presenting" and "recording" at age 11. So let's get started on your journey!

SINGING TEENS | ADULTS: Do you need coaching for an upcoming event? Or do you desire to learn the intricate ways the vocal cords and neck muscles coordinate to produce the sounds you love and have heard other artists do? It's the difference between a vocal coach and a technician trainer. I can do both.

Though I've performed for audiences small and large and in other countries, composed and recorded my own music pieces, my favorite music adventure is drawing your musical abilities out in fun and creative ways - sometimes without you even realizing the progress you're making. Learning music can be thought provoking. Singing is a sport when the whole body functions together to properly produce the sounds you desire.  Presenting songs in a seemingly effortless manner is the result of both purposeful focus and the physical engagement coming together to create for the audience that heart-felt memory that lives forever. Let's get you started on your musical journey!

UPCOMING PIANISTS: Learning to play piano doesn't have to take years and the music pieces can be full sounds across the keys that are emotionally satisfying but very easy to learn.  I adapt my teaching methods to your personal goals.

Yes, you read that correctly. I adapt my teaching methods to your personal goals. No two people are identically alike even if they're biological twins. You're an individual person with your own goals and desires and learning style.   Do you want to play piano for your own enjoyment and relaxation? I can teach you by rote and you'll be playing beautiful music pieces within the first lesson.   Do you desire to play classical music or chordal patterns that accompany a soloist or choir? I can teach the elements of music to master the individual notes across the musical staves of sheet music or I can teach you how to play chords with left and right-hand techniques using a fun and easy-to-learn curriculum.   Do you have goals to play with a worship band? Or perhaps you wish to compose your own songs, even commercial jingles as an income stream.  I can help you do this, too.   I specialize in helping beginners train to lead worship from the piano for all ages of bands utilized for church services.   You can share your goals and I'll customize your training. If you don't know your precise goals, let's get started quickly so we can discover all that is in your heart.   I've composed, recorded albums, and sung in front of crowds around the world, ranging from 50-5000 in attendance. My latest piano instrumental released worldwide is on SoundCloud, Spotify, Apple, iTunes, etc., and it's 10 minutes in length to give the person journaling time to relax and reflect on what they want to get from their heart onto paper. Now, it's time to get you started on your musical journey.

My Musical Education Background

I'm not your everyday, traditional musician or music teacher.  If you like an adventure with a ton of fun incorporated into the journey, then we're probably a great match.

I've been a presenter ( I like that word better than "performer") for over 40 years which means I started at age 9 with piano lessons and began singing publicly at age 10.  I recorded my first 45 at age 11 and so forth.  You can read my "story" at rebecca alderman dot com to discover how MUSIC was a vital component to living through the death of a child and a spouse. I've sung for 50 to 5000 crowd audiences - mostly my passion worship music for Jesus. I give Him all the glory

Next, my passion is learning your music goals and journeying with you to discover how to best witness you fulfilling your goals.

In 2022, I completed the New York Vocal Coaching Certification program under Justin Stoney.

This year, I'll embark a new journey to become an ever-increasing learner myself while gaining a music teacher certification from the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).  The best teacher is the best student.  Here we go!

For voice (singing lessons): Actually, once the coordination of singing is accomplished for the student, we go immediately into studying the "sounds" you like best from your favorite artists.  I'll put together custom vocal exercises that you can do to imitate the cherished "sounds".  Finally, we'll put the icing on the cake by experimenting with "how" you make the "sound" and tweak it with adjustments that make the "sound" your very own.

For piano:  I teach special UNITS on CHORD playing as well as the General Well-Rounded Musicianship, Sightreading, Improvisation, Transposition.  While you're in the "learning through play" stage of your journey, I'll have you playing sophisticated sounding pieces at your very first lesson - (just be sure to tell me this is your goal)!  Now, let's get your started!
