About Me
Portage Music Lessons is a lessons studio located right outside Manuta. My name is James McGurer and I am the teacher of the studio. I am a 2013 graduate of The Atlanta Institute of Music. I am a lover of all types of music and have studied rock, metal, classical, jazz and pop styles. With my teaching I always try to make my students better through teaching them what they want to learn most of all. I have found it isn't much fun to be playing children's songs for months and months on end. Most people want to learn their favorite songs so I try my absolute best to teach what you want to learn most of all.

Genres and Subjects Taught
Rock, (all eras and styles) Jazz, Classical, Country, Metal, Pop styles. As long as we can make a guitar or ukulele work with it we can do it!
Lesson Rates
Normal Rates are $25 a 1/2 Hour Lesson, $45 an Hour Lesson, $25 Hour Group Lessons, First Lesson is a free trial to see if you would like to start full time. Special Rates for 2 or more memebers of a family are negotiable.

My Musical Influences
Chris Stapleton, Johnny Cash, Black Sabbath, Mastodon, Baroness, Iron Maiden, Allman Bros. Band, Led Zepplin, Rush, Jimi Hendrix, Waylon Jennings, Steve Earle. Whoever else makes good music.
