About Me
Novella Piano specializes in custom in-home and online piano lessons. We are a group of teachers dedicated to creating a fun, productive environment for our students to learn how to enjoy piano. Our lessons are at a time that is convenient for you in the convenience of your own home with with us coming to you, or online. Novella Piano was founded by Joseph Schambach, a concert pianst and composer, in order to share the joy of piano with his students. Since its founding in 2019, it has grown to three teachers, all inspired by the same passion, to inspire our students through music.
My Musical Education Background
Joseph Schambach has been involved with piano for over 17 years and has a certificate in piano performance from Judson University. Joseph has participated, placed, and won numerous piano competitions and has composed a number of piano pieces and pieces for voice and piano.
Kaelin Schambach has been involved with piano for over 14 years and currently uses her skill with piano to teach students and to write music for the plays she writes and produces.
Emily Smeenge has her bachelors in music from Judson University as well as obtaining the certificate in piano performance from Judson University. Emily was recently pursuing her masters in music composition from NIU.
Genres and Subjects Taught
We teach a broad range of music styles, from classical piano to worship music to composition. We believe in the student expressing the style that comes natural to them and so we help to foster an encouraging environment for the student to do just that.
Lesson Rates
We have four types of lessons:
In-home 30 min lessons: $30 per lesson
In-home 45 min lessons: $40 per lesson
Online 30 min lessons: $25 per lesson
Online 45 min lessons: $35 per lesson
Ages / Skill Levels Taught
We teach students of all types, but typically do not teach younger than 5 years old, and that is on a case by case basis.
