PHD in Pedagogical Theory and Application
My educational background has prepared me to find the right learning approach, or to blend several learning styles, tao teach to each person's different talents and needs.
I am a member of the National Conference of Music Educators
and Music Teachers National Association
Genres and Subjects Taught
I have training and teaching experience in Orff, Kodaly, and Suzuki learning methods. Music is a performing art so learning to perform or to play or sing is the most important of lessons. Music theory, music history and technical skill are woven into the lessons and not taught as a separate lessons.
Lessons are taught in my studio.
I do not go to the homes of my students.
Lessons are $20.00 per 30 minutes with cash or credit cards accepted for payment.
I allow parents and the potential student to come visit my studio before making their final decision about taking lessons. There is no charge for the visit but if they decide to stay and take a lesson, the normal lesson fee is due.
Ages / Skill Levels Taught
Children are accepted for lessons when they can recite the alphabet forward and backwards (A through G). Parents should also look for the child to be able to sit still and concentrate for at least 30 minutes without a break.
Suzuki violin and/or Suzuki piano lessons require the parents to stay with the child during the lesson as parents are the home teacher or home coach, and are involved in the practice sessions at home.
Adults are encouraged to take lessons on that instrument you've always wished you could Play!
Piano and Violin lessons have been proven to help the brain fight the beginning signs of Alzheimer's. I love to give Seniors music lessons and Suzuki group violin lessons are a blast! Limit of 4 students in each class.
