About Me
Linda's Piano Place is located in North Vernon, IN (Jennings County). I started playing piano at the age of 6 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education (K-12) from Ball State University majoring in piano. I have played for numerous church services, weddings, dinner parties and retirement parties while living in Indianapolis, IN. I have played piano for Up With People, the University Debs, and The Chanters (Murat Shriners). I am the current Music Director at The First United Methodist Church and pianist.
I teach students ranging in age from 5 to 70 years old. I teach the Faber Piano Adventures and Alfred Premier Piano Course. Students are taught chords, composition, theory, and rhythm. Older students are prepared for the Indiana State Solo and Ensemble Contest.
I teach adults as well.
My Musical Education Background
Currently, I am a Parapro in the Jennings County High School Music Department. I play piano for the choirs, band and orchestra.
I have been the General Music Teacher for the Indianapolis Public School system teaching ages Pre-K through 8th grade. I have played piano in Christian contemporary praise and worship groups and well as being a music leader and substitute choir director. My experience includes numerous roles in musicals, The Nutcracker Suite, singing and playing piano for the Hallelujah Chorus, Christmas Cantatas, solos, and ensembles.
Genres and Subjects Taught
Music genres include children's music, classical, holiday, jazz, pop, and soundtrack (musicals). My roots are deep in sacred/secular music.
Lesson Rates
- IN PERSON: $20.00 for a 30-minute lesson; $30.00 for a 45-minute lesson.
- OnLine: $25.00 for 30 minute lesson
Piano lessons scheduled for 1 day per week. Monthly invoices emailed on the first day of the month. You are pre-paying for 4-5 lessons per month. Lessons can be cancelled any time up to the day of the lesson. A fee will apply for last-minute cancellations.

Ages / Skill Levels Taught
I teach beginner piano students (ages 6 and up) and start them with Faber’s Piano Adventures or Alfred's Premier Piano Course. Intermediate students are encouraged to play music for solo and performing. I find out what adult students are interested in and design their instruction accordingly.

My Musical Influences
I love all types of music and musicians. The musical influence in my life come from musicals and plays. My piano playing background comes from classical and gospel music.
