I began playing piano at four years old when I picked out Jingle Bells on my toy keyboard. Blessed to have teachers who encouraged my ear as well as my performance skills, I developed a variety of piano skills including accompanying and songwriting. I studied at Berklee College of Music in voice, piano and songwriting. I have a degree in Musical Theater from University of Northern Colorado where I accompanied voice students on the piano and tutored music theory. Currently, along with teaching piano, I am the Director of Music at Christ on the Mountain Church where I direct choirs, accompany church services, and work with musicians ages 4-84.
Songwriting has always been one of my favorite hobbies. I have recorded several songs and been a finalist for many songwriting competitions.
Teaching music is exciting to me. I believe in giving piano players a variety of tools to make them great pianists. Along with performance skills, this includes a knowledge of theory, scales, complete chord comprehension, ear training, and accompanying skills.
