Where are Lessons Offered
In Teacher Studio
Hi! Holding a Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music and a Bachelor of Music from the Oberlin Conservatory, I am an experienced teacher, an accompanist, and a mother of 3 girls (all grown). I consider myself an all around creative type, adoring all forms of art as well as music. My kids call me the most patient person they have ever met! I infuse my teaching with the joy, love and enthusiasm I feel for life in general.
My Musical Education Background
Master of Music, (MM) Eastman School of Music
Bachelor of Music, (BM) Oberlin Conservatory
Genres and Subjects Taught
I teach in a fairly traditional (but NOT boring!) way, blending sight-reading, theory, ear-training and history/appreciation with technique and musicality.
The bulk of my expertise lies in classical music, though I recognize the importance of and interest in other styles.
Half hour, 45 minute and full hour lessons available. Discount for second/third family member. Rates available upon request.
A note about scheduling: I am flexible and will do my best to arrive at a mutually convenient time for both of us. I can not, unfortunately, due to travel time, teach in your home. All lessons are at my home studio.
Ages / Skill Levels Taught
All ages and skill levels. Recommended starting age not less than 6. Have taught beginner through college music majors. Adults, dont be shy!! Morning hours available!!
My Certifications and Awards
NYS teacher certification
Member, Rochester Piano Teachers Guild
Member, National Piano Teachers Guild (American Colleges of Music)
My Musical Influences
I have been very fortunate to have received training from the most highly respected teachers both privately and at the colleges cited. I find myself using aspects of what each of them have offered me.
