About Me

Bachelor's degree, Nazareth University, Rochester, NY.  Music Therapy (Piano major)/ Education Major.  Suzuki Piano Teacher training in Rochester, NY (Dr Karen Hagberg),       Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra and Music School, and Elizabeth Neufeld (Montreal, Canada).  Traditional piano teacher training from a Helen Thomspon piano studio, and in the widely acclaimed Faber Piano Method.  I also have (parental) experience in working with the Yamaha Music Method, (but am "not" a trained Yamaha Music teacher).  I incorporate both the treaching styles and a few of the child-friendly pieces of the Yamaha Method with my traditional students.

Vocal training from both private teacher and choir of Nazareth, plus training in Musical Theatre singing from involvement in musicals from Middle onwards.

Private and group lessons available.  I am only able to travel to students' homes in certain circumstances, and only within about 7 miles from my own home.

Genres and Subjects Taught

Suzuki or traditional piano.  Voice, Composition (writing your own songs or pieces), Music Theory. Private or group lessons available.  Currently, I only am teaching Traditional style group lessons, but if there is enough interest in the Magic Valley area, monthly Suzuki group classes, with weekly Suzuki private lessons will be offered.

Lesson Rates

Afforadable rates, lessons do cost more if they are in your home.

Ages / Skill Levels Taught

I have experience teaching ages 3 through adult.  My most of my experience is from early childhood through teen years, however.

My Certifications and Awards

I am a member of the Twin Falls Music Club and the Idaho Federation of Music clubs.  A few of my students have particpiated in the local piano Festivals, which are non-competitive adjudications.. My piano/vocal composition "A Rose In December"  earned Honorable Mention in a National Piano Guild contest.  My students have won scholarships and awards at both the local level and State level, in both performance and composition.

My Musical Influences

Dr Shinichi Suzuki, Claude Debussy, JS Bach....too many to mention!
