About Me

I've been here in the Rogue Valley for 15 years, teaching all that time, with an additional 15 years of teaching in Northern CA. I'm also very involved in many musical organizations such as Oregon Music Teachers Association, and Chamber Music Concerts. I love music, I play music, and I love teaching music!

My Musical Education Background

Childhood lessons began early and continued through college. I first received a degree in English Lit, but later realized that music was my joy. I went back to school and got a BA equivalency in Music at Humboldt State University.

I was a choral accompanist for fifteen years at high schools in Humboldt County, a church organist for 13 years, and a vocal accompanist and coach as well.

Genres and Subjects Taught

I teach a complete musical program for piano students. This includes theory, scales, ear training, and chords for both classical and other styles.

Lesson Rates

Rates are currently (12/13 school year) $95 a month for 4 1/2-hour lessons a month. 45-minute and 1 hour lessons are also available.

Ages / Skill Levels Taught

I teach beginner (prefer at least 6 years old) up through early advanced levels, for children, teens, and adults

My Musical Influences

My influences are continually updated - attending concerts and meeting other musicians. But Bach and Bill Evans, playing chamber music, listening to pianists such as Angela Hewitt and Yuja Wang - all add to my influences. Having fun counts a lot, too!
