About Me
Hello, prospective piano student or parent,
My name is Kari Raflik and I have been teaching piano for 20+ years to students from age 7-75 years old. I have openings during the day to accommodate adults, those who are retired, and those who home school, as well as a few after school time slots. Currently I teach from Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (in the choir loft) but also travel to homes of my students (depending on schedule & preference).
No piano? Not a problem. For $15.00 per month you can rent one of my digital keyboards until you purchase a piano of your own.

I currently accompany our adult church choir (organ/piano) every Sunday (and also play for occasional weddings & funerals). I also have experience acccompanying children's choirs.

Before having children, I spent much time as a keyboard player and singer in several professional bands including an Elvis Tribute band in Milwaukee, a variety band in Scottsdale, a blues band in Phoenix, and a classic rock band in Las Vegas. My husband and I occasionally play in a band performing oldies with some friends in a band called Time Xpress in Maricopa, AZ.
My Musical Education Background
My musical education is a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Piano Performance with an emphasis on Piano Pedagogy from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI, 1992 graduate.
Genres and Subjects Taught
I teach from method books, using Alfred & Faber as a learning tool and stepping stone onto repertoire from all different genres of music. I am accommodating and will help you learn the type of pieces you would like to learn (such as popular songs from the radio), but keep in mind that theory, technique and all the basics are still a requirement to become an excellent pianist!
Lesson Rates
Piano Lesson Rates:
$20.00 per 30-minute lesson once a week - children
$40.00 per 60-minute lesson once a week - (recommended for adults and students level 2 & up)
Lessons are paid at the first lesson of the month for the entire month (weekly if that works better for your budget).
Cash or check are both acceptable methods of payment.

My Musical Influences
My musical influences stem from every which direction. I enjoy rock music, pop music, classical symphony & piano music, and have grown an appreciation for country music!!
