About Me
Tanya Hrytsay earned her masters degree from the Tchaikovsky National Conservatory of Music in Kiev, Ukraine the same institution that educated noted pianist Vladimir Horowitz and many other renowned performers composers and educators.
Tanya performed with the Veriovka Choir an award-winning orchestra that tours internationally to share the joys of music with audiences worldwide. Today she finds fulfillment staying closer to home with her family and enthusiastically sharing music with her students.
My Musical Education Background
Tanya earned her Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) at from the Tchaikovsky National Conservatory of Music in music performance, conducting, and instruction.
Genres and Subjects Taught
My philosophy is to help my students to develop as musicians. Along with the fundamentals of piano my students learn the fundamentals of music including rhythm, melody, and harmony.
My students go beyond learning how to read music and to play notes. By incorporating ear training, and appreciation of the elements of music into each lesson students become well-rounded musicians. It is easy to see the difference in students who are trained this way. Their performances, even of simple songs, exhibit passion and feeling instead of dry repetition of common melodies.
