About Me

             John has established himself as a mutli-instrumentalist capable of playing clarinet, bass clarinet, alto/tenor/baritone saxophone, flute, trumpet, keyboards and guitar. He has over twenty five years of experience as a performer and has appeared with various bands and in numerous venues including: Frank Bennett Orchestras, R. Stevie Moore, The Zy Band, Gimme the Gun, Cruisin for a Bluesin', Higher Authority, Mason and Trux, the Flying Mueller Brothers, Yasgar's Farm, Good Foot, What If, the Gospel Shepherds, Verve Jazz Club, the Deanna Banks Scholarship Concert, the Moonlighter Band and One Step Beyond.  John records frequently and has several recordings available on itunes, Soundcloud and Jango Radio.
            With over twenty five years of experience as an instructor, John's skills have been in demand in both private and public schools. He currently operates a private music studio in North Plainfield NJ, where he provides quality one on one instruction to aspiring musicians,  singers and stage performers. As an instructor, he excels at building and developing the skills and confidence that every performer needs to be competitive in today's market. These skills include: tone production, articulation, phrasing and musicality. John is endorsed by various websites including: Thumbtack.com, Musika.com and NextGuru.com. He has a presence on Facebook and Twitter where he actively blogs in numerous professional groups. 
             A 1986 graduate of Montclair State University, John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education where he studied with notable musicians such as: Jonathan Lautman (clarinet), Peter Simenaur (clarinet)  and Dan Trimboli (saxophone/flute). 
             John began playing music in school band programs in North Plainfield NJ. His high school band played in competitions and appeared in many venues in the New York area including the Central New Jersey Fourth 4th of July parade in Plainfield and North Plainfield NJ, the Pulaski Day Parade in New York City, the Home News Festival in New Brunswick NJ and a special appearance in the 1976 World Series at Yankee Stadium. Still active in parades, John has performed for the last ten years in the Memorial Day parade in Scotch Plains NJ. 
            John has long been a supporter of various charitable organizations such as: the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, the Lupus Foundation, the BPOE, and the American Legion.
