I am an accomplished pianist that would like to share my appreciation for music with students of all ages. By offering private piano lessons, I can provide the tools that will allow each person to love and make music themselves.
My Musical Education Background
Private Piano Lessons with local Michigan piano teachers – 8 years. Private Piano Lessons with Michigan State University Music Department faculty – 2 years. Advanced study of piano performance, music theory, music history, and piano pedagogy at the Dersnah-Fee School of Music – San Diego, CA – 11 years. Affiliations: American College of Musicians – National Guild of Piano Teachers; Music Teachers National Association; California Association of Professional Music Teachers; Royal Conservatory Music Development Program.
Genres and Subjects Taught
Lessons include coaching in classical piano technique and performance, sight-reading, ear-training, music theory, and music history. Popular music, ragtime, jazz, new age, show tunes, hymns, and holiday music may be incorporated based on student preferences. Students are encouraged to participate in events throughout the year, including studio recitals, the National Guild of Piano Teachers student auditions, the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program assessments, Music Teachers National Association festivals, California Association of Professional Music Teachers festivals, church services, and other local community group activities. Lessons will be geared specifically to each student to reach their individual goals and expectations.
I welcome the opportunity to meet you and offer a free introductory piano lesson for each student.
