About Me

During my many years of teaching I have developed fun and effective teaching methods, and can adjust these methods to fit my students' various learning styles and experience levels.
 
By being patient and providing guidance and encouragement I am able to help my students feel comfortable as they explore learning the guitar at every level. This is especially true for beginners but is very important for all students as they begin their musical journey.
 
All students will benefit from my knowledge of technique and music theory which I developed after years of experience as a professional guitarist  performing many styles of music, including folk, rock, country, jazz and classical.
 
I am also a songwriter and have attended many songwriting workshops.  I have a B.A. in music Education from Rutgers. I studied music theory at Rutgers and use it in all my classes.  
 
My comfortable studio is  conveniently located in Green Village New Jersey. Skype lessons are also available.  I offer extended hours, flexible scheduling, and most importantly, teaching excellence.
 

My Musical Education Background

B.A. in music from Rutgers. K-12 teaching certification.  Many years of Jazz guitar studies.

I teach all styles of guitar: Jazz, Rock, Folk, Country Classical.

I also teach Bass guitar and upright bass.

Ukulele.

Beginner violin and viola and cello.

Music theroy and composition.

Songwriting.

Lesson Rates

My basic rate is $50.00 per hour in my studio in Green Village New Jersey.

All levels from beginners to advanced.  I specialize in beginer guitar lessons.  

 

My Certifications and Awards

B.A. in music from Rutgers as a classical guitar major with a K-12 teaching certification.  I studied Jazz improvisation for many years with both guitar players and Sax player.
