My Musical Education Background
Hello, I'm Catharina. Thank you for checking out Catharina's Clackamas piano lessons in Clackamas, OR/ piano lessons in Happy Valley, OR. Because of my background in working with children from pre-school through Highschool as a music teacher and piano teacher and performing at numerous venues as a professional musician, I understand the importance of creating a friendly, safe, and stimulating learning environment for my piano students! I love everyone who comes to my piano studio to learn to play the piano and try my best to bring them to their full potential as skilled pianists while building up their self-confidence in a nurturing atmosphere. I love to praise them when they play piano at school talent shows, churches, recitals, play piano at home for their family and friends, or simply play the piano for their beloved pet! That's what it's all about. Fun relaxed private piano lessons- piano lessons for beginners & up with seriously great results!
Genres and Subjects Taught
I offer classical, pop, gospel, blues, rock, pop, etc. & chord piano to all ages and specialize in piano lessons for pre-school kids! I teach the traditional classical syllabus, plus the modern syllabus encouraging improvising, songwriting & singing for those who enjoy singing. I provide a relaxed, welcoming learning environment for kids and adults alike with personalized teaching plans and offer one complimentary first lesson and month-to-month payment plans.
My home studio is warm, welcoming, and sanitized between lessons.
Many of my students prefer taking lessons from the comfort and safety of their own homes. Piano lessons online are much easier than you may think! It is not a video course or a class with many students, but a live interactive face-to-face online piano lesson with you as the only student. You will see where I play on the piano and how to follow in your book. I give clear direction, correction, and encouragement in your playing and make sure you're able to practice it on your own during the week. We usually chat and laugh in-between, but we are very focused when playing the piano. We have a lot of fun during our lessons!

$125 per month ($35.71 per 30-minute lesson)

I offer private piano lessons for kids - adults, online piano lessons or in-person, beginner piano lessons to advanced and beyond. All are welcome!

My Musical Influences
With more than 25 years of experience in private piano lessons for beginners - late intermediate, Catharina provides award-winning instruction to her students at Catharina's Clackamas piano lessons in Clackamas, OR. and is known as one of the best piano teachers locally. She is motivated by her love of music and her passion for transferring her knowledge and skills to others for their enjoyment so they may shine.
For over 25 years, Catharina has taught music in Public Schools in South Africa and America, produced numerous school concerts, worked on a part-time basis as a professional musician, songwriter, worship leader, and recording artist, and taught beginner piano lessons for kids to late intermediate as well as adult piano lessons. She was born in South Africa and received her Bachelors of Arts from Potchefstroom University H.C E. in 1977 and her Post Graduate teaching diploma from Rand Afrikaans University in 1978. Her accomplishments include the production of school musicals and performing music for President Lucas Mangope of Bophuthatswana at Sun City on December 31st, 1989. Catharina and her husband recorded their songs on CD and have played their music on South African TV, Radio Pulpit, and locally on MCTV, Portland, OR.
