About Me

John Tracy is the founder and director of Tampa Bay Music Academy. His bachelor’s degree is in Music with a proficiency in Saxophone. He has performed in and conducted multiple vocal and instrumental groups. He has served as the music pastor for two large Baptist churches, the conductor of a high skill level performance youth orchestra, a classroom teacher on the elementary, middle school, and high school level, and the administrator of two different music schools prior to launching Tampa Bay Music Academy in 2011. Outside of his work as a music educator, Mr. Tracy also composes, records, and publishes music through his independent record label, Witness Music, and performs frequently on the saxophone throughout the Tampa Bay area.

Genres and Subjects Taught

Mr. Tracy offers private instruction to virtually all ages and ability levels. Every week scores of students come to Tampa Bay Music Academy ranging from three and four years old, elementary, middle and high school ages, all the way to college students and adults. Mr. Tracy can accommodate the first year beginner as well as the most advanced student. All lessons are customized with personalized lesson plans according to each student’s skill level and area of interest. Lessons include performance techniques, music theory, harmony, etc.

John is qualified to teach private music lessons in the following areas:
Piano: Beginner through Advanced
Guitar (Acoustic, Classical, Fingerstyle): Beginner through Intermediate
Voice: Beginner through Advanced
Saxophone: Beginner through Advanced
Other Woodwinds: Beginner through Intermediate
