About Me
I am an expereinced teacher of piano and voice (singing).
I am married, and have three adult sons. i am a proud grandmother of a beautiful little boy.
My interests are movies, musical theater and reading.
Also, I teach and adult bible study class. I love to have fun and laugh. My dog is a teaching aid at all lessons.
My Musical Education Background
I have a degree in Music -voice and piano with a minor in speech communication from Indiana State University. I have done extensive research into music theater and composers of classical and popular music.
Genres and Subjects Taught
I enjoy teaching both piano and singing lessons. I use classical and popular styles of muslc.
Lesson Rates
The lesson fee is $14.oo per 30 minute lesson. This is paid weekly or two weeks or monthly. Receipts are given for mulitple lessons with the dates of prior lessons.
Ages / Skill Levels Taught
The youngest piano student is 5 years. They will have to supervised at home as they practice. There is no age too old to learn to play the piano. Singing or voice lessons begin at the age of 12 . Most students are in Junior high school or older.
My Musical Influences
I have been influenced by many styles of music and many performers of music. I have attended rock concerts and classical concerts and musical theater. I sing and all kinds of music. I have enjoyed the performances of Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond, Isaak Perlman, Jim Brickman, Joshua Bell, Elton John, Harry Conick,Jr. and Frank Sinatra and Fred Astaire. Composers I enjoy are:Back, Beethoven, Gershwin, Berlin, John williams, Cole Porter and many more.
