About Me
Betsy Green is a free-lance pianist, music director and vocal coach. She has worked with composers, William Russo and Claudia Howard Queen. She was the collaborative pianist for several of Russo's Art Songs performed at the Chicago Cultural Center (New Music Chicago Concert). She also performed with her duet partner, Davida Newman, at Preston Bradley Hall and she was the solo pianist for the "Meet the Pianist" program at the Cultural Center. WFMT, WBEZ and CLTV have broadcast Ms. Green performing Claudia Howard Queen's music. Betsy Green studied with Katherine Glaser (who is very experienced with matters concerning excellent use of the hand, physiologically.) Ms. Green customizes her approach with each individual - she believes that music study is something that is essentially a joyful pursuit; music is a discipline, a language, an extraordinary outlet and something of exceptional intrinsic value to be experienced and appreciated in a teacher/student setting.
