Genres and Subjects Taught
I teach theory concurrently with the lessons. We play lots of music games as well as several online programs to help students with notes and other aspects of their music education. I believe music should be fun and informative at the same time so I strive to have lesson and practice time be as interesting as possible. I teach classical piano, but also gear lessons to the interests of my students. I have taught children as young as 4 and adults of all ages. I attempt to offer as many opportunities for students to perform as possible in both competitive and non-competitive venues. I love music and want my students to love it too!

My Musical Influences
I was born into a musical family. My dad played violin, piano, clarinet, sax and several other instruments. He had a dance band and performed when I was young at local dances, on TV and movies. He encouraged me and my siblings to study music, especially piano as a first instrument. He always saw to it that we did our best in our music. We sang together as a family - just for fun - and enjoyed just making music whenever possible. I'd say he was the major influence in my music education. He encouraged my college endeavors at BYU. We played many duets together for violin and piano and even put together a little trio with a sax, guitar and piano to play at the local county fair. All in all, we grew to love music and enjoy making it. This is what I want for my students too!
