I am so grateful Astrid Groth began teaching piano in 2008 to my eldest son, who was eight years old at the time. Astrid taught him music theory, performance skills, and a variety of pieces by the world's best composers. He quickly excelled and was fortunte enough to compete and place in competitions. My two middle children, whose primary instruments are not the piano, also benefitted from lessons with Astrid, and my youngest son and I have been taking lessons from Astrid for three years. Studying music again has been a sheer pleasure for me, and a healthy outlet in dealing with professional stress. I wholeheartedly recommend Astrid for students of all ages and abilities. She helps all of her students achieve what they may not have thought possible, and it is delight to see the improvement and polished performances of her students at the recitals. Astrid genuinely cares about each of her students, recognizes the students' different personalities, and thoughtfully finds pieces that will excite each student. She has high standards, but her students know it is because she believes in them and knows they are capable of doing well. My father attended The Juilliard School and was serious about music education; hence, I am particular about music teachers but state without reservation that Astrid's ability is unmatched. I feel privileged that my family has had the opportunity to study with Astrid, who has become a cherished family friend.
